Account and Data Deletion
You can delete your TransferTrack account and the personal data tied to it at any time. This page explains how to do it, what gets removed, what we have to keep for a while, and how long the whole thing takes.
This page is part of the TransferTrack Privacy Policy and should be read together with the Terms of Service.
Click the links below to jump to each section:
1. Delete your account in the app
The fastest way is right inside the app:
- Open TransferTrack and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm when asked.
This permanently deletes your account. It cannot be undone, so make sure it is what you want before you confirm.
2. Delete by email
If you cannot get into the app, email support@transfertrack.org from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We may need to confirm you own the account before we go ahead, so that no one can delete your account but you.
3. What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove the personal data tied to it, including:
- Your profile, including display name, photo, bio, interests, and prompts.
- Your transfer route: current school, target school, major, and start term.
- Your community posts, comments, and course reviews.
- Subscription metadata held on your account.
- Advisor usage records tied to your account.
Data that already lives only on your device, such as your course and GPA ledger, budget, application tracker, and full Advisor chat history, is removed when you delete the app or clear its data, since we do not hold a copy of it.
4. What we keep, and why
We may keep a limited set of records after deletion when the law requires it, or when we need them to handle an open safety report, a fraud or chargeback review, or a legal request. We keep only what is needed for that specific purpose, and we delete it once the reason no longer applies.
5. How long it takes
Your account is disabled immediately. We begin deleting your ordinary account data from active systems right away and complete that deletion within 30 days. Limited information may be kept longer when the law requires it, or while an unresolved safety, fraud, chargeback, or legal matter is open, and only for as long as that reason applies. Content that was reported or removed for moderation is generally purged within 90 days.
6. Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel an active TransferTrack Pro subscription, because billing is handled by the app store, not by us. Cancel a subscription in your device subscription settings before or after you delete your account. If you delete your account but leave the subscription active, the app store may keep charging it.
7. Waitlist removal
If you only joined the waitlist and never made an account, email support@transfertrack.org or use the unsubscribe link in any waitlist email, and we will remove your address from the list.
