The TransferTrack community is a place for transfer students to help each other plan the move from one school to the next. These Guidelines explain what belongs here, what does not, and what happens when someone breaks the rules.

These Guidelines are part of the TransferTrack Terms of Service and should be read together with the Privacy Policy. By posting, commenting, or reviewing, you agree to follow them.

1. What this community is for

People come here to ask real questions about transferring, share what worked, warn each other about what did not, and celebrate the wins along the way. Keep your posts useful, honest, and respectful. Assume the person on the other end is a student trying to figure things out, the same as you.

2. Who can post

To post, comment, or leave a course review, you need a community profile and an account in good standing. Anyone who can see the feed can read along; you set up a profile when you want to join the conversation.

3. What is not allowed

To keep the community safe, do not post or do any of the following:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation of anyone.
  • Hate speech or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected traits.
  • Sexual content, and anything that sexualizes or endangers a minor.
  • Encouraging self-harm, violence, or other dangerous behavior.
  • Doxxing or sharing someone's private information without consent.
  • Impersonating another person, school, or organization.
  • Scams, fraud, pyramid schemes, phishing, or selling and trading accounts.
  • Fake, paid, or incentivized reviews, vote manipulation, or coordinated posting campaigns.
  • Admissions or financial-aid misinformation presented as fact, and guarantees about getting in, getting aid, or transferring credits.
  • Spam, repetitive posting, off-topic advertising, or unsolicited promotion.
  • Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights.
  • Illegal activity, or content that promotes it.
  • Unsafe, discriminatory, or fraudulent housing offers or listings.
  • Scraping, attacking, or interfering with the Service, or evading a ban or block.

4. Reviews and wins

Course and school reviews only help if they are real. Write about your own firsthand experience, keep it specific, and leave out anything false or misleading. Do not post a review in exchange for payment, and do not review a school or course you are connected to in a way that biases it.

Wins are for the good stuff: an acceptance, a credit that finally transferred, a scholarship that came through. Share them honestly. A win is a kind of post, not a separate set of rules, so everything here still applies.

5. Reporting content

If you see a post, comment, or review that breaks these Guidelines, report it from the menu on that item. Reports come to us for review and are not shown to the person you reported. Reporting something does not automatically hide it, which keeps the report tool from being used to silence people unfairly.

We aim to review reports within 48 hours.

6. Blocking someone

You can block another user from the menu on their post or comment. Once you block someone, their content drops out of your feed and they cannot interact with you. You can block without reporting, and you can do both.

7. How we enforce the rules

Depending on what happened, we may remove content, limit features, suspend an account, or permanently ban an account. When an account is banned, we hide that person's posts and comments across the community, not only the one item that was reported. We may also keep records of a violation where needed for safety, fraud, legal, or abuse-prevention reasons, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Serious violations, such as threats, sexual content involving minors, or fraud, can lead to an immediate ban without a warning.

8. Appeals

If you think we removed your content or limited your account by mistake, email support@transfertrack.org from the address on your account and tell us what happened. We will take another look.

9. Changes

We may update these Guidelines as the community grows. When we do, we will update the date above.
